About Zombie Shooter
Zombie Shooter is a free top-down survival shooter you play right in your browser on a computer, tablet or phone. Fight through a four-chapter campaign, team up with a friend in local co-op, or chase high scores in the Arcade Hub. There is no download and no account required.
Aiming is fully manual: there is no auto-aim for Player 1, so every hit comes down to your own skill. You can move and shoot at the same time, so keep running while you fire.

Phones and tablets
Hold your device in landscape. The left thumbstick moves and also aims, since your gun always points the way the stick points; the big Shoot button on the right (or a tap anywhere on the right half of the screen) fires straight ahead, and the buttons beside it swap weapons, reload, use your ability and interact with crates, doors and junction boxes.
Campaign
The story campaign takes you from overrun city streets to a frozen research outpost, an overgrown jungle and a rusted industrial zone, before ending aboard an alien mothership. Missions include clearing zones, escorting survivors to extraction, holding the line against timed waves, protecting generators, defending a moving truck and battling bosses such as the Hive Mother and the Overseer. Each mission loads its own map, and the path branches as you progress.
Clearing missions earns Scrap and chapter resources (Frozen Data Chips, Ancient Amber and Rust Cores) to spend in the Weapons Shop. Mid-mission perk drafts let you pick one of three cards, such as Vampiric Heal, Ricochet Bullets or Incendiary Ammo, for the rest of the run.
After the finale, New Game+ unlocks harder alien decks with electrified floor wires, locked security doors you hack by holding interact, weapon drops with attachments and tougher enemies.
Enemies
- Shamblers: slow but tough walkers that overwhelm you in numbers.
- Runners: fast, fragile zombies that close distance quickly.
- Plague Bugs: fast stingers; five stings and you turn.
- Spitters: keep their distance and lob acid.
- Exploders: sprint at you and detonate on contact or death.
- Bosses and mini-bosses: including the Cryo Stalker, the Canopy Leviathan, the Hive Mother and the Overseer.
Arcade Hub
- Endless Horde: survive as long as you can as SWAT, Assassin, Technician or Marksman. Every three waves you draft a perk and can overclock your primary weapon at the safehouse bench. Blackout and Blood Moon events shake things up, and your best run goes on the global leaderboard.
- Riot Fighter: Stage Run: a side-scrolling brawler through six sectors as Reaper, Ghost, Warden or Shambler, each with two active abilities. Beat the Cryo Stalker and the Canopy Leviathan; faster clears score higher.
- Rot Fighter: one-on-one versus fights against the same roster.
- Endless Gauntlet: defend a truck bed on an endless highway.
- Void Blast and more retro cabinets.
Weapons, skins and progression
Unlock pistols, SMGs, rifles, shotguns, snipers, launchers, energy weapons and melee weapons. Choose a survivor with their own active ability, customise your look in the Locker, and spend Z-Coins in the Skin Shop on character outfits and gun camos. Progress saves automatically in your browser, and a free account syncs it to the cloud.
Tips for new players
- Never stand still: strafe while you shoot so groups cannot surround you.
- Reload behind cover or while retreating, not in the middle of a crowd.
- Prioritise Spitters and Exploders before they reach you.
- Carry a close-range primary and a long-range secondary and swap as needed.
- Yellow crates restock ammo, so plan your route through them.
- Save abilities for bosses and emergencies.
